The Wild Bunch

From the beach, to the street, to the home...from Dries Van Noten to Oscar de la Renta to Diane Von Furstenberg....most fashion's biggies (and home decor biggies) have gone Tribal on us:

Rockocracy: Amber Le Bon

What do you get when you combine a world famous Rock Star and a Supermodel?

Amber Le Bon

On the cover of Tatler magazine for March, Amber Le Bon is wearing a floral Dolce & Gabanna dress, sprawled on a couch with the caption ‘Girl on Film; Amber Le Bon is ready for her close-up'

She’s five-foot-10 and all legs so it’s only natural for her to follow in her Mom's (Yasmin Le Bon) footsteps.

She says she knows the Daisy Lowe’s and the Geldof girls (they went to Prep school together) of the Rockocracy but doesn’t hang out with them.
I guess when you look this good, you don’t have to run around getting drunk and stupid (and tattooed) in the East End of London.

Here’s Amber on the catwalk with Mom (Chanel Show A/W 1991 RTW) at the age of 2, in her very own Chanel onesie.
Amber: “I popped out of a handbag. But I don’t remember it!”

Take that, Suri Cruise!

Smarty Pants

Absolutely loving the loose, slouchy pant that I’m seeing EVERYWHERE these days.  I’m even starting to love pleats on trousers—never thought I would see that day again.
I particularly like this pair from Diane Von Furstenberg:

                  $298

Check out this awesome spread from Marie France magazine--March issue:

As far as tops go, you should pair your slouchy, full pants with a fitted tee or blouse--even a fitted blazer will work.

Some other Smarty Pants for Spring 2010:

Oscar de la Renta

Ok, first of all, this entire look is fashion heaven. ODLR is genius.

Alice + Olivia

LOVE these pants.  The Zen Pant $275 (a steal!)

Badgley Mischka

Carlos Miele

The little bolero/shrug sweater or jacket also looks great with this pant

Head Candy: The Turban

It’s either the quickest way to fashionably top off an outfit or it’s your worst nightmare.
You decide.

The good news is; this trend won’t break the bank. Check out these cute turbans from Forever 21—for $5.80!!!

Billie Piper = Must See TV

Are you watching Secret Diary of a Call Girl?
If not, you should be because this is what you're missing:

A witty ensemble cast that will have you laughing (and sometimes blushing) at their antics:

The sexual tension between the lead character, Belle and her best friend, Ben (who happens to be one of the best dressed actors on television):

Sometimes Belle plays dress-up:

Sometimes, Belle goes shopping (after she counts her money):

In the Season 3 premiere, Billie Piper (the lead actress) meets the REAL Belle (the TV show is based on a best-selling memoir by, you guessed it; a London Call Girl):
Billie Piper is far hotter than the real-life Belle

I just finished watching the last episode of Season 3 so I'm a little obsessed with Billie Piper these days....
Here she is as a brunette in the February 2010 issue of (UK) Marie Claire, wearing that delicious trench coat from Burberry Prorsum:

She's charming.

So, if you're not watching, what are you waiting for?

What About Bob?

I want a Bob haircut like Faye Dunaway in Bonnie & Clyde:

However, the last time I tried a Bob, I looked like this:

Carol Channing

My hair hates me.

Head Candy

From movies, to pop culture, to famous works of art, The Bowler Hat is tucked firmly into the ever-changing timeline of fashion history.

Thanks to Jean Paul Gaultier for Hermes (A/W 2010), The Bowler is back--for a lot of people, it never left.

For the rest of us, it's nice to know they're not just for that Cabaret Halloween outfit that we pull out every other year.

I think I'll go dust mine off now.
